Our Story
Built in Simcoe County
Black Barrel Wood Co. is a custom woodworking studio based in Innisfil, Ontario. We design and build furniture, cabinetry, CNC-engraved wall art, and custom signage — all by hand, all from solid hardwood.
Every board is hand-selected. Every joint is cut and fitted in our shop. Every finish is hand-applied in thin, patient coats until the grain glows from within. We work primarily in black walnut, white oak, cherry, hard maple, ash, hickory, and birch — species chosen for their beauty, durability, and the way they deepen with age.
Our clients come to us because they want something that doesn't exist yet. A dining table for twenty. A custom desk with integrated cable management. A bed their children will inherit. A CNC-carved sign for the cottage. We listen, we sketch, we source, we build — and we don't stop until it's right.

What wood species do you work with?
Black walnut, cherry, white oak, red oak, hard maple, ambrosia maple, ash, hickory, and birch. We source from local mills whenever possible.
How long does a custom piece take?
Timeline depends on complexity and our current queue. A dining table typically takes 4–8 weeks. We'll give you a firm estimate after the design is finalized.
Do you deliver outside Simcoe County?
Yes — we regularly deliver throughout the GTA, cottage country, and beyond. Shipping can be arranged for clients further afield.
How do I start a project?

Do you make CNC signs and wall art?
Absolutely. We offer custom CNC-engraved signs (family names, cottage signs, home decor) and geometric wall art in a variety of wood species and sizes.
